In 2018, Kuwait University adopted the developed organizational structure, and accordingly, the Technical Support Administration became affiliated with the Office of the Assistant Vice President for Information Technology, affiliated with the Sector of the Vice President for Academic Support Services.

The Technical Support Department provides integrated services to meet the needs of information technology and provide support services to the beneficiaries to achieve the optimal use of information technology in the administrative and academic fields at Kuwait University to improve the educational process and educational outcomes.

One of the most prominent functions of the Technical Support Administration is to supervise the implementation of the strategy, plans and policies for providing computers and their peripherals, general and specialized software, and technical support at Kuwait University. It is also based on providing technical support for computers and their peripherals and general and specialized software for the beneficiaries. The Technical Support Department also supervises purchase orders for devices and their peripherals, and general and specialized software for all work centers and colleges, in coordination with the relevant authorities.

The main functions of the Technical Support Administration:

  • Providing information technology to all Colleges and work centers at Kuwait University, including providing computers and their peripherals, and general and specialized software.
  • Providing support and maintenance for all computers and their peripherals.
  • Managing, maintaining, and supporting all general and specialized software.
  • Providing technical support to the beneficiaries of hardware and software in all colleges and work centers at Kuwait University.
  • Providing workshops for repairing, maintaining, and following up on computers in colleges and work centers at Kuwait University.
  • Preparing budgets for the technical needs of computers and their peripherals, and general and specialized software.
  • Issuing and following-up requests, then receiving and distributing them to the work centers of the university.
  • Participate in developing technical strategies for how to use the computer and its peripherals.
